The Ogden Bicycle Collective was established in 2009 as a branch of the Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective.  "The mission of the Bicycle Collective is to promote cycling as an effective and sustainable form of transportation and as a cornerstone of a cleaner, healthier, and safer society. The Collective provides refurbished bicycles and educational programs to the community, focusing on children and lower income households."  Last year the Ogden collective was able to hire our first full-time director and finally move into our new location. We provide a full service bike shop where customers can come in and learn how to repair their bikes from mechanics for a minimal fee ($5/half hour) or purchase a year long membership to use the shop and tools for free.  We also sell bikes that have been donated to us and have been refurbished and made safe by our mechanics.  All of this supports our community programs such as our kids bike giveaways, Earn-A-Bike Program, Goodwill Bike Program, Apprenticeship Program, and free bike mechanics classes.

Clinton Watson, Director:

Clint Watson is the Director of the Ogden Bike Collective and a seasoned advocate for utilitarian and recreational bike riders. He has 13 years experience as a volunteer, board member, mechanic, volunteer coordinator and director of nonprofit bike shops in Utah, Arizona, and Idaho. He believes the bicycle is the most elegant machine and an incredible tool for empowerment, transportation and efficiency.

Danielle Fry, Volunteer Coordinator:

Danielle has worked in the human services/social work field for the last nine years, providing assistance to homeless, low-income, and disadvantaged groups.  She has been a long time bike commuter, so when she recently moved to Ogden, she became involved with the Ogden Bike Collective by attending their free bicycle mechanics classes and volunteering.  She enrolled and completed the apprenticeship program through the collective and was hired as the volunteer coordinator where she works to recruit and train volunteers.  She is also helping to establish and run the goodwill bike program.
