Collette Mercier has been employed at Ogden-Weber Tech College since 1984 in a broad range of positions of successively greater responsibility as a result of hard work, proven leadership abilities, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a firm commitment to the college and its mission.
Serving as president since 2007, she knows the college’s strengths and challenges. President Mercier is totally committed to the college’s mission as a technical college – “We build a prosperous community by creating a technically skilled workforce one student at a time.”
President Mercier is active in the community and is involved with the following organizations: Weber Economic Development Partnership; Utah Defense Alliance; Council on Occupational Education National Review Board; Weber County Production Managers’ Association; Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce; Chamber Legislative Affairs Committee; Rotary International; Utah Women in Higher Education Network; Ogden United Board; and Zions Bank Advisory Board.
President Mercier’s awards include: Chamber Women in Business ATHENA Leadership Award; Utah Business magazine 30 Women to Watch; YCC Spirit of the American Woman – Amy Armstrong Non-Traditional Award; and Ogden-Weber Area Vocational Center Superintendent’s Outstanding Staff Award.
A Michigan native, President Mercier received a BA degree from Saginaw Valley State College and an MA degree from Michigan State University.
