I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah where I lived for 40 years.  I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Westminster College of Salt Lake City with a B.S. in Air Operations Management in 1987.  I received my graduate degree with high honors in Public Administration from Brigham Young University in 1990.

I began working in aviation doing aerial photography in 1979 and received my pilot’s license in 1983.  My first Airport position was working for Centennial Airline in 1986 in ramp operations at SLC.  In 1987, I was hired by the Salt Lake City Airport Authority in Operations.  Over the next twelve years, I held four different positions in Airport Operations: Operations Officer, Airfield Manager, Security Manager, and Police Lieutenant.

My family moved to Florida in 1999 and I began work with the Sanford Airport Authority (SFB) as the Vice President of Finance / Chief Financial Officer and remained there for fifteen years.  During my time at Sanford, I arranged funded for over $150 million in capital projects (FAA & FDOT), established over $ 4 million in airport reserves, set up a 2,000 line phone system & over twenty computer server systems, including a nine mile fiber optic network ring, and created a police department & dispatch center. I took SFB from a $500K loss in 1999 to a $3.2 million profit in 2013-2014.

In 2014, I retired from my position is Florida and I accepted the position as Airports Manager in Redding California.  In Redding, I was responsible for two airports, Redding Municipal Airport (RDD) and Benton Airpark (O85).   In 2015, the airport took a $330K loss.  In the year I resigned, we logged a $227K profit.  This was after five short years.

In January 2019, I accepted the position of Airport Manager at the Ogden Airport (OGD), where I received my pilot’s license in September of 1983.  I am hoping to repeat my financial success at my last two airports, here in Ogden.

I have a loving wife of eighteen (18) years, Julee, who retired 2012 from the Kennedy Space Center after 28 years working on the Space Shuttle program.

We have two daughters, Jessica 30 years of age and Katelyn 28 years of age, and two granddaughters.  Both daughters are graduates from the University of South Florida in Tampa and all still live in Florida today.
