Kristy Jones, NUHOPE

Kristy Jones, MPH, earned her undergraduate degree in Public Health from Utah State University (‘92) and a Master of Public Health degree from Idaho State University (’01).  

She currently serves as a Community Health Director focusing on Mental Well-Being for Intermountain Healthcare.  In this role she has worked on suicide prevention for the system, opioid stewardship and improving access to behavioral health services for the uninsured.  Prior to this assignment, Kristy was based at McKay-Dee Hospital and oversaw Community Health work for the Northern Utah/Southern Idaho Intermountain Healthcare hospitals.  She has loved the work she has been able to do with Intermountain Healthcare over the last 10+ years. 

She is the past Director of the Northern Utah Area Health Education Center at Weber State University in the Dr. Ezekiel R. Dumke College of Health Professions, serving in that position for over 9 years.  Prior to coming to WSU, she spent almost 10 years at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare as the Cancer Prevention and Control Unit Director and the Program Manager for the statewide Tobacco Prevention and Control Program.
