Kevin Cottrell, Project Safe Neighborhoods

In 2018, Ogden was chosen as a pilot city for Project Safe Neighborhoods, a nationwide initiative designed to reduce gun violence in communities around the country. The initiative includes partnerships among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors as well as community organizations. Ogden officials have shared that the project has significantly decreased the rate of major crimes in the city.

Kevin Cottrell is the grant manager for the Ogden City Police Department. In addition to his work with Project Safe Neighborhoods, Kevin has played a vital role in securing grants to enhance the department's resources and support their mission to keep Ogden safe.
